Małgorzata Mirga-Tas was invited to participate in the project and to create a new work inspired by textiles from the collection of the Royal Museum of Art and History in Brussels.

Her proposed intervention in the Museum’s space is a large-scale textile that alludes to the collection in the context of animal and plant motifs depicted on the tapestries, but more importantly, themes from the history of the Roma in European art. Małgorzata Mirga-Tas, who represented Poland at the Venice Biennale in 2022, will be commissioned by the IAM to create a work that, through this unusual intervention, will enter into a kind of discourse with the collection, while reflecting on the present day through the prism of history.

The exhibiton is curated by Wojciech Szymański.
